Advice Team

David Carr, Managing Director

david carr

David is a member of the Personal Finance Society. He has gained many years experience in the industry including twenty seven years with Nat West Bank: sixteen years in investment/wills/executor, and a further eleven years as Senior Financial Planning Manager.

David’s independent advice service is widely used by professionals and individuals, including Edmund Carr’s referred clients.

Financial planning has been no different to most aspects of life over the past few years - there have been many changes, and it is still equally important to plan for the future.

I am very lucky in that I have known some of my clients for up to twenty years, their children are now clients and, more recently, clients of the accountancy practice (many of whom came to my father for advice some years ago) are now seeking independent financial advice from us.

michael macleod

Michael joined the firm in July 2016 as a trainee IFA and completed his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in January 2018.

Prior to this, Michael's background was predominantly in retail banking and mortgages. Providing financial advice to clients was always his long term goal and something he now enjoys very much.

I got married in 2015 and had my first child in April 2017 which was incredible. A lot of my spare time is spent with my baby boy, but I also try to run and play squash when I can. I am a big Formula 1 fan and follow many sports at different times. Aside from this, I enjoy stand-up comedy and attend amateur nights as well as some of the bigger names on the scene.

I welcome the opportunity to use the experience gained from relationship banking to assist clients with realising their financial ambitions..
